What is Wakesurfing/What is a Wakeboat?
- Wakesurfing is a watersport where riders surf the endless wave created behind a specially designed boat. After getting up with a rope, riders can let go and surf freely on the boat’s wake, creating a smooth and exciting experience that combines elements of surfing, snowboarding, and wakeboarding. It’s fun for all ages and skill levels, making it one of the fastest-growing activities on the water.

All our boats have an inboard motor so rider safety is not a concern.
What ages can do Watersports/Is it easy to learn?
- Guests of all ages are welcome to participate in experiences with Coastal Wake. Every child is different but the earliest we usually start with in water activity we recommend no ages below 5 to 6. Our crew provides instruction and guidance tailored to each guest to ensure everyone has a comfortable and memorable experience.
- Yes! Wakesurfing is one of the easiest and most beginner-friendly watersports to learn. Our experienced crew at Coastal Wake provides step-by-step instruction, making it fun and comfortable for first-time riders of all ages. Most guests are able to get up and ride during their first session, and we tailor the experience to each person’s comfort and skill level.
What is the recommended amount people onboard/time on the water?
- We recommend groups anywhere from 1 guest wanting a lesson to larger group sizes maxing out at 12 guests. This allows everyone plenty of time to ride, relax, and enjoy the boat comfortably. Whether you’re booking a family outing, celebration, corporate event, or day with friends.
- For the best experience, we typically recommend booking 2–4 hours depending on your group size and the type of experience you’re looking for. Smaller groups often enjoy a 2-hour session, while larger groups or guests wanting more ride time, relaxing, swimming, and cruising usually prefer 3–4 hours on the water. We can also assist with planning the perfect day on the water for you and your group.
